    Data4Nature

Data4Nature is a multi-disciplinary research cluster focused on excellence in environmental data science, an integrative field at the nexus of computational biology, statistical synthesis in biodiversity, and environmental science modelling. Inclusivity, equity and reconciliation are core values of our mission, informed by practices such as open science and respect for Indigenous data sovereignty.

The Data4Nature cluster seeks to develop and apply new methods in the growing field of ecoinformatics, and provide local to global leadership in new networks for biodiversity knowledge. We will leverage the power of new technologies to detect change in species and ecosystems, and integrate existing streams of environmental data by catalyzing a B.C. Biodiversity Network. Such large amounts of integrated data will enable us to work with multi-sectoral partners to co-develop models of ecological change for societal good.
